Cansiglio    visita d’istruzione  classi 3a e 3b!

           REGIONE : VENETO
      PROVINCIA:Belluno

The Cansiglio, foothills of a  plateau,  is a "hollow" and has a characteristic shape of a bowl. It is located between the provinces of Treviso, Belluno and Pordenone. It has a minimum of 898 feet while the surrounding mountains are about  1300 meters height.
The climate is temperate, the temperature ranges from 29 ° to -20 degrees, the humidity is high for heavy rainfall. It presents  the thermal inversion phenomenon: generally the higher the altitude, the lower the temperature; Cansiglio in the opposite occurs, because the cold moisture-laden stops air  at the bottom. That's why both flora and fauna characteristic of high altitudes (spruce, fir) grow in low, while the beech tree is typical of the plain surrounding mountains.
In ancient time Cansiglio belonged to the Republic of Venice: with beech wood were built oars of ships. In Cansiglio survives a small  language communitiy: the Cimbrian. The Cimbri came from Tyrol and Bavaria and arrived in Italy around in 1200,they were called for their skills in forestry activities. The first Cimbrian community in Cansiglio goes back to  1800, their main activity was cheese production and the use of the beech, used to produce handicrafts goods. Throughout the Cansiglio plateau is diffused the phenomenon of karst: limestone rocks are easily eroded, the water often penetrates into the subsoil. That’s why on the surface there are deep fissures and swallows on the ground. There are deep chasms, like the ‘Bus of the Lum’ and  the ‘Bus of the Gentian’.
You can visit the Ecological Museum, run by the State Forestry Department, which keeps inside naturalistic findings.

As for the wildlife you can see mainly  the deer,  the sable, the  marten, the weasel and the fox, squirrels, moles and wild mice. Among the raptors: buzzards, kestrels, sparrows, hawks, eagles, owls,  grouse.  Possible opportunities for trekking, walking, cycling, downhill and cross country skiing.

"Closing my eyes I have heard: the smell of moss, dried leaves, resin ... “We have heard: the birds tweetting, the buzzing of flies, the sound of dry leaves and branches that broke under our feet  and  the distant sound of cowbells ... “
"The path  at times very narrow, or really wide was sometimes lined by dried  torrents. It was disconnected however the ground was wet and soft. "

REGIONE : Friuli Venezia Giulia
PROVINCIA: Pordenone
Comune : Fiume Veneto

Bannia
REGION: Friuli Venezia Giulia
Province: Pordenone
City: Fiume Veneto

Bannia, along with Praturlone, Cimpello and Pescincanna is a part of the municipality of Fiume Veneto, is located in the province of Pordenone. The territory is plain, between 7 and 21 meters above the sea level.
Bannia is a very old
word , it goes back to  the time of medioeval  castles, when  from time to time a rider use to come  with his soldiers, and judged  those who did the fighting. The knight carried with him a kind of flag, this was actually called the  band or banned, to show that he was the one who got the power by the king  to judge all. On those days, when the rider stopped in the village, many people arrived  making  festival and market, so the town was known as "the place where you do also banners". And what happened to those who had behaved badly and the rider punished? They were driven out of the country and were therefore called band-ites, banned.
In  Bannia were discovered numerous archaeological findings of the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. The presence more documented through vases, amphorae, bricks  and pottery remains goes back to the Roman period. Of artistic interest we can find traces of a seventeenth-century  and of eighteen-century mill ; the church of  Bannia, completed about 100 years ago, octagonal, designed and built by a great architect, Girolamo D' Aronco and finally the bell tower, 55 meters high.
From a naturalistic point of view, you can visit the ancient Forest of Marzinis, where they grow mainly: the hornbeam, white willow and black poplar. The abundance of fresh and  clean water flowing in the two rivers the Sile- and the Fiume,  spouts off  naturally  from the karst springs, certainly embellishes and features the natural environment and the territory.
Among the most important events there are "Fiumettopoli" for fans of comics and the yearly festival where you can taste fried frogs and other specialties of Friuli: frico e polenta.
Places of interest nearby: the church of San Girolamo in Marzinis, fifteenth century, the Benedictine Abbey of Sesto al Reghena  and Pordenone
Bannia is a nice place to live for us: it is possible in fact to do many activities, have fun, meet, feeling free in the nature...
